Jeffery Carl is a native of suburban Chicago.  He earned a BFA in Illustration, an MA in Studio Art, and an MFA in Drawing and Painting from Northern Illinois University.  Jeffery Carl's work has been shown both regionally and nationally.  For over 10 years he has taught drawing, painting, art history, and fine art seminars at Judson University

Through drawing and painting, Jeffery Carl imagines the natural movements of geology, meteorology and astrophysics as metaphors for supernatural processes. His work engages our perception of scale, and the nature of boundaries that distinguish material from immaterial. As the universe unfolds in time he believes it leaves remnants that become a microcosm of the whole.
